Katie, time
has passed and
you being gone is hard to swallow...
It hasn't become easier to accept. I
catch myself expecting your late night
calls and early morning e-mails. As
promised, I been taking Laya out and
checking up on her. She has your
character and is an amazing little girl.
You have done so much for me over the years.
I'll miss your late night calls, your
advice. and all the gossip. Thank you for
all the people you introduced to me along
the way. I'll see you when I get there. "I
love you and my socks are dirty." |

Hi Mr & Mrs Ashton and Layla. I cant
express my sorrow at this tragedy and is
still difficult to comprehend. Katy
was such a nice, funny, honest and cool
person. We worked together and were
both
shredders and bikers so had common things to
tell stories about! She will be missed
very much and my thoughts are with you all.
The pictures of 'sunrise/sunset' reflect her
reflective side completely.
Warmest regards and Peace. |

Katie (sunshine),
You were always my sunshine. No matter what
kinda day I was having I would call you up
and your voice and your corny laugh would
always make me smile. The first day we met I
knew you would change my life. I have never
met someone so spirited, determined, and
free. You are the most amazing mother to
Laya. You inspired me to be a better person.
We had our ups and downs these past eight
years. I miss our trips to the slopes,
meeting up after class, meeting up for hours
at the diner, our cigarette chats on your
parent's porch, reading to Laya, the
birthday parties, the endless nights on the
dance floor at Traxx's or Nations, our road
trips to see your family, and you calling me
a dingleberry. I will do my best to watch
after Laya and help your family in any way I
can. I will never be the same without you
and I am a better person for knowing you.
You are always in my thoughts and I look
forward to seeing you again. Until then KPA

I met Katie about 18 months ago on an early
spring ride. She was one of the most
vibrant people that I had ever met.
Although I didn't get a chance to know her
like many others, you could tell that a
friend to her was a friend for life.
Another rider informed me of her untimely
passing and it felt as if I had been shot in
the stomach by a cannon. If her
passing affected me that way, I can only
imagine the hurt that those feel that were
really close to her. My heart goes out
to her friends and family. I wish you
all peace in your hearts and hope that empty
space is filled with loving memories her.
Sweet dreams Katie. |

discussed riding techniques during our

and integrity. My heart is heavy and sadened
by your departure, but the Lord knows best.
I pray that the Lord comfort Laya and your

Katie,
one of my fondest memories is of us sitting
by the campfire at Todd and Helens while our
two beautiful little girls ran around
screaming like banshees. We agreed that
there was not a better sound on earth.
Godspeed Lady Kathryn. You touched the lives

Laya are forever in my heart.

Katie's
daughter Laya was always the primary focus
of Katie's life. She is exactly like Katie.
Spirited, intelligent, funny, complex and
beautiful. Those of us fortunate enough to
have been let into Katie's heart would
probably like to think we were the love of
her life. But, in truth, Laya was always the
love of her life. I'll always respect that
about Katie. Her motherly instincts were
incredible. Whenever Laya would ask a
sensitive or tough question for a parent to
answer, Katie always knew the perfect
response immediately. As a parent, I was in
awe of her that way. |
